Sabunin ang mga bibig

with 2 comments

“Political issues are for my spokesman (Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye) to answer,” she said when the Inquirer sought her comment yesterday on the US Senate probe which concluded that her administration had not done enough to stop the killings.

Baka iniiwasan niya uling mapikon at magwalkout.

"We take the interest shown by the United States in the Philippine human rights situation as a constructive gesture coming from a time-honored ally,” Bunye said.

“This government has never faltered in its adherence to rule of law and respect of human rights and is closely in step with the world human rights community,” he said.

Ano daw?! Nahihibang na talaga mga alagad ng administrasyon. Marahil ay nalimutan na nila ang isang kataga sa Ingles na "When want something done, you have to do it yourself."

“Perhaps some US military assistance could be dedicated toward human rights training in the field and the needs of the new Armed Forces of the Philippines Human Rights Office,” he said in a statement.

Ermita said that at the hearing in Washington, a US State Department official had said: “We stand ready to be of additional assistance to the Philippine authorities.”

“So why are they here? Why is Toyota putting its transmission plant here? Why is Hanjin here [whose shipyard in Subic] is the fourth biggest in the world? It’s because of the confidence in our economy, because of our fiscal reforms, and these reforms are creating jobs,” she told the Inquirer.

Ah trabaho daw, totoo kaya iyon?

with 8 comments

In the broadcast media, political adverstisement may take the form of spots, guestings in TV shows and radio programs..."

KABATAAN-Ateneo Chapter disowns FG Arroyo

with 2 comments

What does "FG Arroyo" means? It means, well supposedly "First Gentleman" but now the second word could mean anything but not including "Gentleman" in light of what the fake President's husband has been doing for the past years. Throwing around lawsuits to anyone who will go up against him or any other member of his family. Talk about flexing muscles and throwing one's weight around isn't it?

Well he had been doing just that but fortunately, there are still those who are brave and righteous enough to stand up and put up a fight. Just recently, he did something no decent human being in the right state of mind would do; the story and its effects could be gleaned from this statement release from the Ateneo Chapter of KABATAAN party.

An Atenean must be a man for others

The First Gentleman has some gall to invoke the name of the Ateneo at his appearance at the House Committee Hearing last January 23. Refusing to answer to Pateros Representative Cayetano’s
allegations of corruption, Arroyo instead filed a complaint to the Committee on Ethics to remove the congressman from office last 2006.

“Ateneo de Manila seeks to preserve, extend, and communicate truth and apply it to human
development…:” so says the Vision/Mission Statement of the Ateneo de Manila University.

Clearly, Mike Arroyo does not manifest the mission and vision of the school thus, does not have the moral ascendancy to drag the name of the Ateneo in his personal crusade to crush those who dare question his actions as a public figure and official. He does not manifest the basic
principles of honesty, integrity and all the values an Atenean must possess.

Representative Cayetano is not the first to feel the wrath of the First Gentleman. In 2006, Arroyo filed several multimillion libel cases against journalists, editors whose only objective is to report matters of public interest. In the end, the biggest victims of Arroyo’s abuse of power are the Filipino people who left with unanswered questions regarding corruption issues pitted against him.

We are honored to be from the Ateneo. We decry the use of the name of our alma mater by a person who refuses to be transparent in matters of public interest. We always say that an Atenean must be a man for others. Mike Arroyo, clearly, is not.

Licensed Guns, Goons and Gold

without comments

So GMA is on 3G, as Guns, Goons and Gold.

Let us recall last December the Gold that showered upon the loyal Governors of our provinces to the Administration and the sham president at its head. It was an early Christmas for them loyal Governors who supported the CHA-cha train by providing the supposed warm bodies that would give legitimacy to the deceased people's initiative.

Her Goons have been at it ever since, from the Secretary of InJustice, to her vile minions in the Lower House. Plus the many foot soldiers in the field no different than the NPA death squads wreaking havoc and terror amongst the civilian populace sending clear messages through the barrel of their guns or the sharp edges of their knives that anyone who speaks to loudly against the tyrant in Malacañang will be dealt with, efficiently.

Finally her guns, storming provincial capitols occupied by Governors whom, unlike her were duly elected by their constituents, are not loyal or obedient to her will with such a force it could turn any provincial capitol in the country into an instant war zone. Serving arrest warrants, suspension orders and other legal means. Just like what MLQ3 wrote, "If you can't beat 'em, suspend 'em."

It seems clear that GMA is enjoying her 3G, what's even more worrisome is that someone like her who was not elected to use such '3G services' is using it to its full effect.
